Eterna Centenaire '61

Just share my latest acquisition.. Vintage Eterna '61 in 18k yellow gold.. Eterna was the first watch brand to use a ball bearing rotor in 1948.. The technology was way ahead of its time back then and so successful that Eterna used it for their logo.. Beautiful, albeit simple, linen texture dial and superb movement finishing/decoration for its price..

 

FS: Corum Admirals Cup 44 GMT (SOLD)

Case: 44mm stainless steel with sapphire crystal and 10 ATM water resistant.
Dial: White dial , date aperture at 3 o'clock, red painted second hand, faceted hour and minute hands with Superluminova, 12 Nautical pennant hour markers transferred on the flange.
Movement: Automatic Cal CO383 (based on ETA 2893), 21 jewels, 28,800 vph.
Strap: Original Corum genuine black alligator with triple folding deployant buckle.
Condition: Complete full set with papers, good condition.

Case: 44mm brushed titanium with transparent caseback. 300M water resistant.
Dial: Tobacco sandwich dial, subsidiary dials for running seconds, date aperture at 3 o'clock.
Movement: Panerai Automatic Cal P.9000, 28 jewels, 28,800 vph.
Strap: Original Panerai brown alligator strap.
Condition: Complete full set (3 boxes) and in good condition.

My favorite dress watch.. A deceptively simple two handed ultra thin watches from JLC, the master of ultra thin movement..

 



 

 

Powered by JLC cal 849, which at 1.85 mm thickness, is considered as the workhorse of ultra thin movement..

As far as I know cal 849 is the only basic JLC movement that is assembled in the Watchmaking Specialties Workshop together with JLC most complicated movements such as the minute repeater..

Understatement, the fine art of discretion, expresses itself in many variations..

IWC Portuguese FA Jones

Some pics of my recently sold Portuguese FA Jones.. Beautiful looking marine style watch from IWC.. The 37.8 mm movement is based on early pocket watch caliber and feature a Breguet overcoil..

 

IWC Ingenieur Ref 322801

Sharing my ex private collection.. IWC Ingenieur ref 322801.. Not limited edition, but only was produced for one year I believe.. The difference with other Ingenieur models was the sapphire exhibition case instead a solid caseback with antimagnetic soft-iron inner cover.. The IWC cal 80111 is 7.3mm thick (that's right!) with Pellaton winding system and is considered by some as one of the most robust automatic movement avalable..
